Cannot open class hierarchy dialog, please help

Jinyue

Hello All,

I am new to Protégé and got a problem when following the guide of version 4.0. I hope some of you can help me, thanks in advance.

I was following the guide to build the pizza ontology step by step, but on the page 36 (exercise 13 step 2), while trying to define the range of a property, the class hierarchy dialog did not pop up after clicking the “add” button in range view, I got error message in console (see below). I tried to define domain, got the same thing. Then I went back to class tag, and randomly picked a class, then click “add” sign of superclass, I supposed to get a pop up class hierarchy window to add a new superclass, but the same error happened. I searched the web and found some others got similar problem, but no solutions were there.

This could not specifically related to version 4, but I did not see it in version 3.1, have not tried version 3.4 yet. I also tried to use different version of Java VM, but was not helpful.

Please help me…I am stuck here in an urgent project. Many thanks…

Jinyue

Below is the error message:

Hi Jinyue,

Which platform / operating system are you running on?

In fact, I think this is a language issue. I've fixed the code so that it is not language dependent.
