If you use mke [see http://mkrmke.org/] as an ontology editor,
then the command
    do hotop done;
lists all the "top" classes, which I assume is what you mean by "root".
Likewise,
    do hobottom done;
lists all the "bottom" classes.
 
If you add the optional argument "od -1" after the command name,
these classes are connected to the TOP or BOTTOM node of
the class lattice.
