Ok, hereby in more detail (thanks for your patience btw:)

Finally got it I think:

-          Change prefix iri

-          Fine

-          Open iri setting again, change nothing, say yes again for replacements (already strange but you think you did not change the iri...) do save

-          Look at them again: Stanford is back :)
Can you reproduce?

I am still confused:

Suppose my ontology ID/IRI = http://www.odysseus-project.eu/ontologies/depc.ttl
(actual example on: http://vcon1.tno.nl:8080/webprotege/#Edit:projectId=b89c0b5c-c797-47cb-bd20-edef66e1d014)
I now copy in new entity settings: prefix: http://www.odysseus-project.eu/ontologies/depc#<http://www.odysseus-project.eu/ontologies/depc>

(and I say yes to replacements)

When I create new entity (class or instance) prefix is still stanford!

It sounds like there is some problem with your set up.  This works as expected on webprotege.stanford.edu<http://webprotege.stanford.edu> and on my local installation.  Can you post the detailed steps of what you set and what you do to create entities and what you get as a result?

For clarification, the ontology IRI has nothing to do with the prefix IRI for entities and neither the prefix IRI for entities or the ontology IRI have anything to do with the URL that is used to access webprotege.

Cheers,

Matthew

Hi Michel,

I've just checked on webprotege.stanford.edu<http://webprotege.stanford.edu> and things seem to be working as expected.  The instance IRI generation uses the same code as class IRI generation so I'm not sure why you're seeing a discrepancy.  What are your settings?

Cheers,

These features are indeed in build 106.... I just double checked to be sure.  They are available both on webprotege.stanford.edu<http://webprotege.stanford.edu> and they are available in build 106 which you can download from

https://github.com/protegeproject/webprotege/releases

Are you the project owner?  Only project owners see the Project button.

Hi Michel,

Yes it can.  Click on the Project button in the top right corner (you have to be the project owner for this to work).  From the drop down choose "New entity settings...".  You'll then get a dialog where you can specify the settings, including your own IRI prefix (make sure it ends in something sensible e.g. a slash).  There are various options but I recommend you stick to UUIDs if possible.

Cheers,

Matthew

Re: webprotege-feedback Digest, Vol 15, Issue 38

Bohms, H.M. (Michel)
Hi Eddy
Just check bug is still there in our system

Eg in http://vcon1.tno.nl:8080/webprotege/#Edit:projectId=1dae01ec-99d8-4953-be33-6c6ea927cff0

I created a class bug...it gets the stanford iri

I now change in project/ne entity settings: prefix to http://www.tno.nl/

Create new test class: it gets the right iri (tno)

Next I go to new entity settings again and DO NOTHING
(it asked to replace etc. what is suspicious...)

I create another class test2, and it has Stanford again as default iri

Ps
I always use Chrome

Re: webprotege-feedback Digest, Vol 15, Issue 38

EddyVanderlinden
Matthew, Michel,

Just as an information, on the Dutch server:
- I signed up for an account (EddyVanderlinden)
- Uploaded an ontology (Public Service)
- Changed the new IRI settings via Project, new entity settings:

- Confirmed the replace option:

- Added new entities, closed the ontology / reopened and added again, logged out/logged in again and added new entities again: the new namespace is used.

You may review the test classes (created one new individual too in Capability class).
Upper class is New Test.

I leave it up to you to find any difference in ontology/procedure and hope it contributes in the usage of Webprotégé at TNO, which I value very high (both TNO and Webprotégé :) ).

Re: webprotege-feedback Digest, Vol 15, Issue 38

Bohms, H.M. (Michel)
Hi Eddy
The iri changes back when you open AGAIN the Project/New Entity settings and do nothing.
It asked for replacements (which is starnge since you did not change anything). And then the old iri appears again (Stanford one) when creating ne w classes...

(this step for not in your procedure below)

Thanks for trying THIS....

In reply to this post by EddyVanderlinden

Hi Eddy/Matthew,

Maybe more clear (the problem is really in the new entity settings dialog):

1. I go to new entity settings, it shows:

2. I change to:

Say ok and yes to replacements

3. now I open again the new entoity setytings, it says:

So far so good.

4 Now I say OK and then I get:

Which is not ok, since I did not change ack to Stanford as is suggested!

Hope the bug is now clear…

Gr Michel

Hi Michel,

Indeed, now it's more clear.
I had the habit to press Cancel when the setting was OK.
But OK is even so good and there indeed it changes again at our end too.

Thanks for warning.

Bohms, H.M. (Michel)
Ahh ok, so that is also the workaround, when changing nothing only press cancel :)
