[protege-owl] disjoint subclasses

Susana Ferreiro
Hi, when I open a project in protege, how could I specify that two subclasses are disjoint?
Thanks.

[protege-owl] AW: disjoint subclasses

Rajverma

Hi Susana,

I don’t understand what u mean by ‘when I open a project in protégé’!! In Protégé you can specify that two classes are disjoint by first selecting a class in ‘subclass explorer’ panel and then adding the relevant classes to be disjoint, from the ‘Disjoints’ pane on the right bottom of ‘class editor’ panel…

Cheers,

Raj

Hi,
When I open the file as .pprj it doesn´t appear 'Disjoints' pane... but if I open the file as .owl.pprj it does, why does it happen?

Thanks.
Susana

Well, only ‘owl’ based protégé projects will have this Disjoints pane, but not with the frames based one… This is because of the Description Logic based formalism that is used for owl ontologies… I don’t have much knowledge abt frames based version of protégé…

Cheers,

Raj

Hi Susana,

You need to use the disjoint classes widget.  It's on the classes tab
- bottom widget on the right hand side.

Cheers,

Matthew
