umls connection error

Sira-2

Hi all,

I've configured my connection so that my UMLS loads in protege 3.1. I
have added my ip addresses to my profiles on UMLSKS (as seen in some
previous disscussions, though not sure how i'm going to authenticate
myself on UMLS server via protege). When i try the search 'breast
cancer' approximate search, i still receive the following error
message:

Connection refused to host: umlsks5.nlm.nih.gov; nested exception is:
        java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect

how do i fix this? i've tried looking through previous discussiion on
archive but couldn't find anything else. please help.

thank you very much,
Sira

As I mentioned in a previous response, the UMLS Tab connects to the
USMLSKS servers via RMI.  The UMLSKS servers have licensing software
that examines and validates your IP address before granting access.
Please see the following FAQ on their Web site for more detail (please
note the requirements for connecting from behind a firewall:

The UMLSKS servers are still refusing a connection from your IP
address.  The best thing to do is to contact them directly about your
connection problems.  The email address is: [hidden email].
